Who do we support?
Anyone aged 18+ in with mental health difficulties who is care managed. Located in Swansea.
What is the purpose of the service?
Tenants living at the New Mill Project experience a sense of belonging and being part of a community. Each tenant has their own bedroom and share a communal lounge, kitchen and garden. We encourage tenants to engage in community activities and develop social relationships.
What support does the service provide?
The project works closely with the community mental health team and other agencies to access specialist services. We provide support with a wide range of needs that include:
- Maintaining a tenancy
- Budgeting
- Benefit Entitlement
- Daily living skills
- Managing emotional, mental and physical health
- Employment / Volunteering / Educational opportunities
- Social opportunities
- Support networks/ relationships
The New Mill project gives tenants the opportunity to experience settled accommodation in a shared living environment with support to live as independently as possible. Support is delivered in a range of ways, including on-site presence and telephone support, inclusive of access to Out of Hours on call support from the Willow Project.
All tenants have access to the Solution Focus Service and can meet 1:1 - virtually or in person - with a Solution Focus Practitioner.
