Introducing Ellyn, our Informed by People Manager

 

Background

Before stepping into my current role, which focuses on the training and development of Goleudy’s staff, I gained invaluable frontline experience as a support worker. This hands-on insight gives me a deep understanding and real appreciation for the dedication and challenges our staff face every day. It also shaped my commitment to developing training and tools that are not only practical but that genuinely support staff to understand clients’ needs and help each person move closer to their goals.

 

Focus and Improvements

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that every client is the expert in their own life. Instead of focusing on problems, we work collaboratively to uncover strengths, build on what’s already working, and define what a better future looks like for them.

We firmly believe every individual possesses the inherent skills, strengths, and resources needed to make positive change. Guided by Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), we keep conversations grounded in the present and oriented toward the client’s preferred future. We ask forward-looking questions such as, “What will be the first sign things are improving?” to help clients identify small, meaningful steps toward progress.

In practice, this means working with each client to clearly define their own goals. Success looks different for everyone. For some, it may be attending an appointment, reconnecting with family, or managing bills. For others, it could be securing stable housing or starting work or training. By celebrating these short-term achievements, clients build confidence and momentum toward lasting stability.

This person-centred, goal-led approach ensures our support is always tailored, respectful, and focused on empowering clients to create change in their own way.

 

For the Clients

We can measure that this approach is working by comparing the first six months of 2025 with the equivalent period in 2022.

In the first six months of this year, our clients achieved 406 goals, which is an impressive +70% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

Achieving these goals has a genuinely positive impact on their long-term stability. A successful move-on is defined as when the client can leave our service and transition to a more positive and stable living situation.

Goleudy achieved 162 successful move-ons in the first six months of 2025. This is an increase of +44% from the same period in 2022, demonstrating the effectiveness of our training and client-focused strategy.
